China accused of giving Russia satellite data for Ukraine war
Original: China is providing Russia with satellite reconnaissance information for its war against Ukraine, according to Bloomberg.
Bloomberg reports that China is supplying Russia with satellite reconnaissance information used in its war against Ukraine. According to the report, the company HEAD Aerospace provides Russia with imagery data from more than 100 Chinese satellites. The claim, if confirmed, would mark a significant escalation in Chinese support for Moscow, going beyond trade and dual-use goods. The report has drawn strong reactions, with calls to boycott China and demands for Western consequences.
Why now: New reporting alleging direct Chinese intelligence support for Russia's war in Ukraine raises the stakes for Western and Chinese relations.
