Sexual assault allegations roil Cornell and University of Arizona campuses
Original: university
A student known as Jane Doe says Cornell president Michael Kotlikoff doubted her gang-rape claim, leaving her feeling 'unsupported and disbelieved' in a letter sent to faculty leaders. Separately, the University of Arizona is investigating a reported sexual assault of a student by two men at a fraternity house. Both cases have drawn national coverage and renewed scrutiny of how university leaders handle campus sexual assault complaints.
Why now: High-profile allegations against students and weak institutional responses at two major US universities are drawing widespread media attention.
