EU to press Canada and UK for more Ukraine funding

The European Union is preparing to press Canada and the United Kingdom to contribute more funding for Ukraine, Politico reports. The push comes ahead of an EU-Canada summit, with Brussels seeking broader international financial support for Kyiv as the war continues and EU budgets come under strain. The appeal targets close allies outside the bloc to share more of the burden of sustaining Ukraine's finances and defence needs.
Why now: Ongoing debates over sustaining Western financial support for Ukraine amid strained budgets are keeping the burden-sharing question prominent.
