Twenty years after his death, the story of Carlo Acutis, the Italian teenager canonised in 2025 as the Catholic Church's first millennial saint, is being told in a feature film releasing in around 200 cinemas across France and in some 30 countries. Christian media are highlighting the wide theatrical rollout, presenting it as a sign of continued devotion to the young computer programmer beatified in 2020 and elevated to sainthood in September 2025.
Why now: The film's release coincides with recent interest in Carlo Acutis following his canonisation, drawing attention among Catholic audiences.
