The European Space Agency's JUICE mission, bound for Jupiter, has flown by both the Earth and the Moon, using the encounter to calibrate its instruments. Scientists note the spacecraft observed our home system the way it would study an alien planetary system, offering a striking fresh perspective on Earth and its lone satellite.

Why now: The dual Earth-Moon flyby is a major milestone for the mission and produced striking imagery and data.
