TWICE's Jihyo leaves JYP after 21 years to launch own agency

Original: twice

Jihyo, leader of K-pop group TWICE, has left JYP Entertainment after 21 years and founded her own agency, EMITHAUS. Both sides stress the move is not a departure from TWICE, and she will continue group activities with the band. Fans are reacting to the veteran idol taking independent control of her solo career.

Why now: A longtime star separating her personal management from the agency that launched her is major K-pop news.
