Vacuula Project Brings Disconnected Neato Robot Vacuums Back to Life

Original: Vacuula Revives Disconnected Neato Robot Vacuums

Neato robot vacuum owners left with unsupported, cloud-disconnected devices after the company's decline now have a new option: Vacuula, a software project that revives the abandoned units. The effort, covered by Open Source For You, lets users restore functionality to vacuums that lost support when Neato's servers went dark. It is being welcomed by the open-source and smart-home communities as a way to keep hardware out of landfills.

Why now: Neato's shutdown stranded owners of robot vacuums, and a community software revival offers them a practical fix.
