EJF Welcomes EU Vision 2040, Urges Full CFP Delivery
Original: Vision 2040: EJF welcomes the direction, urges full delivery of the CFP
The Environmental Justice Foundation has responded to the EU's Vision 2040 for oceans and fisheries, saying it welcomes the strategic direction but warning that commitments will only matter if the Common Fisheries Policy is fully delivered in practice. The group is pressing policymakers to turn the long-term vision into concrete enforcement, sustainable fishing limits and protection for coastal communities and marine ecosystems.
Why now: The European Commission's Vision 2040 statement has just been published, prompting environmental groups to react and push for implementation.
