US envoy Steve Witkoff is set to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss a proposed Ukraine peace plan. Following a meeting with Witkoff, Putin announced the release of American citizen Stephen Hubbard, who had been held captive by Russian forces in Ukraine since the full-scale invasion.
