US sending third aircraft carrier to Middle East after Hegseth-Netanyahu meeting

Original: U.S. deploying third aircraft carrier to Middle East following Hegseth's secret meeting with Netanyahu at Ovda Airbase.

The United States is deploying a third aircraft carrier to the Middle East, with the USS Theodore Roosevelt and the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit, adding roughly 10,000 personnel expected in the region by the end of November. The move follows Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth's secret meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at Ovda Airbase, and comes as the USS George H.W. Bush is already deployed, raising concerns about escalating regional tensions.

Why now: The buildup of three carrier strike groups and a reportedly undisclosed meeting between US and Israeli leadership points to potential escalation in the Middle East.
