Indian certification authority eMudhra has had private keys compromised, and auditors found at least one of the supposedly secure cryptographic keys was simply the number '4'. The incident raises serious questions about the firm's key management practices and the security of certificates it issued, which browsers and systems may have trusted.
Why now: A trusted certificate authority guarding critical keys with trivially weak secrets is a glaring security failure.
