Researchers from Universiti Malaysia Sabah have partnered with OceanX to explore ocean waters off Malaysia down to 1,500 metres. Using submersibles, seafloor mapping tools and environmental DNA sampling, the team is collecting deep-sea data intended to be connected with shallow coral reef research, improving understanding of the region's marine ecosystems.
