CB3 committee backs major overhaul of Tompkins Square Park recreation area

Manhattan Community Board 3's committee has endorsed a major overhaul of the recreation area in Tompkins Square Park, in the East Village. The proposal would now move forward for further consideration by the full board and city agencies. Residents are watching how renovations would affect playgrounds, courts and general park use.
