Russia has released American citizen Stephen Hubbard following a request from President Trump. The release came as Vladimir Putin met US envoy Steve Witkoff in St. Petersburg for talks on a possible Ukraine peace deal. Witkoff drew attention for describing Putin as a 'humanitarian' during the visit, adding to debate over the tone and substance of US-Russia diplomacy.
