Judi Dench calls Cats film 'a waste of goodwill and talent'

Original: judi dench

Dame Judi Dench has spoken out against the 2019 film adaptation of Cats, calling it 'a waste of goodwill and talent' and revealing she has never watched the final cut. The veteran British actress, who played Old Deuteronomy in the widely panned musical, made the comments in a recent interview, prompting fresh discussion of the film's notorious reception.

Why now: Dench's unusually blunt criticism of the Cats movie has resurfaced interest in the ill-fated adaptation.
