Hands-on with Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio's Stranger Than Heaven

Original: After a few hours with Yakuza studio's soulful Stranger Than Heaven, I'm smitten, but I suspect it'll be a divisive game

A critic who played several hours of Stranger Than Heaven, the new title from the studio behind the Yakuza series, says the game is soulful and memorable but expects it will split opinion among players. Early impressions frame it as a bold creative risk from a developer willing to stray far from its established formula.

Why now: Fresh hands-on coverage of an unusual new game from a beloved studio is drawing attention from fans and critics.
