Bank robbery suspect tracked through surveillance and license plate readers

Original: They followed the surveillance videos everywhere to track his progress. Anyway, not that I recommend robbing banks, but

A suspected bank robber in Florida was traced by investigators using surveillance cameras and automated license plate readers that followed his movements in and out of the area. The case is being discussed as an example of how extensive surveillance infrastructure in the United States has become, with cameras and plate-recognition systems able to reconstruct a suspect's route in detail.

Why now: People are struck by how easily modern surveillance networks, including license plate readers, can track a single person's movements.
