Original: james anderson county contract news
Fast-bowling great James Anderson has not been offered a new contract by Lancashire, according to reports citing county news. The 42-year-old, Test cricket's most prolific fast bowler with over 700 wickets, retired from international cricket in 2024 and has continued playing domestically. The decision raises questions over whether Anderson will keep playing county cricket or move on.
Why now: Fans are reacting to the surprise news that England's all-time leading Test wicket-taker may be leaving his home county.
