Original: Myanmar Morning News | SEANF Removes Myanmar Human Rights Commission

The Southeast Asian National Human Rights Institutions Forum (SEANF) has moved to remove Myanmar's human rights commission, according to Myanmar news coverage. The decision reflects ongoing regional criticism of bodies tied to Myanmar's military government, with rights groups long arguing the commission lacks independence and legitimacy amid the country's civil conflict.

Why now: Regional human rights bodies are taking formal action against Myanmar's military-appointed institutions amid continued international pressure over the junta's conduct.
