Clam shell that looks like ancient writing fascinates internet
Original: Esto no es escritura antigua. Es una almeja viva Lioconcha hieroglyphica. Su caparazĂłn desarrolla diminutos sĂmbolos mar
The shell of the living clam Lioconcha hieroglyphica is drawing attention because its brown markings look strikingly like hieroglyphs, though they are purely natural patterns. Commenters marvel that no two shells are alike, with pigmentation chemistry and time producing the writing-like designs on an ordinary mollusc.
Why now: People are struck by how much the clam's natural shell pattern resembles ancient human writing.
