Tuvalu, a small Pacific island nation, earns significant revenue from its country-code internet domain .tv, which currently counts around 125,400 registered domains including major sites like Twitch. The arrangement shows how two letters in the global domain name system carry real economic weight for the tiny nation, which licenses the suffix to foreign registrants.
Why now: People are sharing the striking fact that a tiny Pacific nation's web domain sustains a meaningful economy and underpins major platforms like Twitch.
