Original: This is exactly what you do with an infusion of cash! BioWare Officially Shutting Down and New Mass Effect Canceled http
Reports circulating online claim EA is officially shutting down BioWare and canceling the next Mass Effect game. The news is being shared with sarcasm about an 'infusion of cash', with commenters linking the closure to layoffs and labor conditions in the gaming industry, and some posts referencing Saudi Arabia. The claims stem from a report and have not been independently confirmed in the snippets available.
Why now: Claims of a major studio closure and the cancellation of a beloved franchise would spark immediate attention from gamers and labor-focused observers.
