Knoxville housing office seeks more warming center space after church fire
Knoxville's housing office is looking to expand warming center capacity for people needing shelter from the cold after a fire damaged a church that had been providing space. Officials are working to ensure homeless residents still have somewhere to go during freezing weather while the usual site is unavailable.
Why now: A church fire has reduced cold-weather shelter capacity, raising concern about where homeless residents will stay during freezing conditions.
