Musk's outsized power in Ukraine war sparks debate
Original: "There are 347,000 Americans for every billionaire. There are 343 million Americans for every Elon Musk." https://www. t
Critics are highlighting Elon Musk's extraordinary concentration of influence, comparing the roughly 800 American billionaires to one man whose decisions can affect entire nations. The focus is Musk's control of Starlink, which has been critical to Ukraine's battlefield communications, and concerns that a single individual wields geopolitical power rivaling that of governments, especially amid ongoing debate over US support for Ukraine.
Why now: Renewed controversy over Elon Musk's control of Starlink and its impact on the Ukraine war has put extreme wealth concentration and personal power back in the spotlight.
