Original: Thousands of SEIU Local 1000 members march through Sacramento for historic one-day strike
Thousands of members of SEIU Local 1000, the union representing California state employees, marched through Sacramento as part of a one-day strike described as historic for the union. The walkstop brought workers onto the streets of the state capital, and the action is drawing wide attention given the union's size and role in state government labor relations.
Why now: A rare one-day strike by one of California's largest public-sector unions is a significant labor action in the state capital.
