Smart Solar fires over 80 after wildcat strike in Türkiye
Turkish solar company Smart Solar has dismissed more than 80 workers following a wildcat strike, according to the World Socialist Web Site. The report frames the mass dismissals as a response to unauthorized industrial action, drawing attention to labor conditions and union rights at the company. Details on the workers' demands and the company's official position remain limited.
Why now: Mass layoffs in retaliation for a wildcat strike raise concerns about labor rights in Türkiye's growing solar energy sector.
