Honor Flight Chicago expands to Gulf War veterans

Original: Honor Flight Chicago program now includes veterans of operations Desert Shield, Desert Storm

Honor Flight Chicago has broadened its program to include veterans of Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. The organization flies veterans to Washington, D.C. to visit war memorials, and the change means Gulf War service members can now take part in these trips. The move reflects the program's gradual expansion as veterans of more recent conflicts age into eligibility.

Why now: The program's expansion to a new generation of veterans is a notable update for the veteran community and their families in the Chicago area.
