Xbox to charge hourly fees for streaming games players already own
Original: Xbox wants you to pay 24 to 40 cents per hour to stream games you already bought https:// arstechnica.com/gaming/2026/10
Microsoft's Xbox is introducing an hourly fee of 24 to 40 cents for streaming games that players already own, according to an Ars Technica report. Gamers are criticising the move, arguing it amounts to paying again for titles already purchased, and some are framing it as the latest example of declining value in subscription-based digital services.
Why now: The report sparked backlash because players see paying per hour to stream games they already bought as unfair double-charging.
