Divers in the Gili Islands, off Lombok in Indonesia, have photographed a sole, a flatfish known for camouflaging itself on the sandy seabed. The sighting, shared with dive communities in Gili Trawangan and Gili Air, is being celebrated by scuba enthusiasts and Singapore-based dive groups as a highlight of the region's rich marine life.

Why now: Dive communities are sharing encounters with the region's marine life, and a well-camouflaged sole makes for striking underwater photography.
