Plex has reportedly laid off its entire player team, just as users report that 4K Dolby Vision and HDR10 content on iOS and tvOS beta builds won't play at all, leaving an infinite spinning circle. Discussion on developer forums and news aggregators links the staffing cuts to concerns about the company's commitment to fixing playback quality issues.

Why now: The layoffs coincide with users experiencing serious playback bugs in Plex's latest betas, fueling criticism of the company's priorities.
