UN launches Roblox game aimed at preventing violence
Original: Sync or Storm: UN launches Roblox game to prevent violence
The United Nations has launched 'Sync or Storm', a new game on the Roblox platform designed to help prevent violence. Announced by UNRIC, the UN's regional information centre, the project puts the organisation's peace-building message in front of young players in the virtual worlds where they already spend time. It reflects a broader push by international bodies to use games and interactive media for public education and conflict prevention.
Why now: The UN using a popular youth gaming platform for violence prevention is an unusual and novel outreach effort.
