Erica Ludolph was a resistance fighter against the Nazi regime. In 1944, she used forged passports, describing how she acted 'with heart pounding', to rescue the Jewish mother of a friend from deportation to a concentration camp. Her story is being told in the book 'Erica Ludolph', and author Dieter Maier, one of its writers, is presenting her life at an upcoming public event, drawing renewed attention to her courage.
Why now: A book presentation about her life is bringing her little-known resistance story back into public discussion.
