Israel using US-made electroshock weapons on Palestinian detainees, investigation finds
Original: Tied up and tortured: Israel using US-made electroshock weapons on Palestinian detainees
A Guardian investigation reports that Palestinian detainees in Israel have been tied up and tortured with electroshock weapons, and suggests US company Axon continues supplying Israel with Taser devices despite evidence of their use against prisoners. The findings raise questions about US arms exports and corporate accountability in the treatment of detainees.
Why now: The investigation links widely reported detainee abuse allegations to ongoing US weapons supply, drawing fresh scrutiny of Axon and American export policy.
