Gaza's ancient Christian community faces extinction

Original: Will Gaza’s ancient Christian community disappear forever?

Gaza's small, centuries-old Christian community is feared to be on the verge of disappearing as the war in the Palestinian territory continues. Before the conflict, only around 1,000 Christians lived in Gaza, and church leaders and observers warn that deaths, displacement and emigration could end a presence dating back to the earliest centuries of Christianity.

Why now: Ongoing war in Gaza is driving attention to the fate of its tiny historic Christian minority.
