White House Hails a 'Golden Age of Science'
Original: ‘A Golden Age of Science’ Brought to You by the White House
The White House is promoting the idea that the United States has entered a 'golden age of science', a framing picked up by The New York Times. The claim sits uneasily with ongoing debate over federal research funding and science policy, and commentators are weighing whether the rhetoric matches the administration's actual support for the scientific enterprise.
Why now: The administration's optimistic science rhetoric clashes with criticism of its research funding decisions, prompting debate.
