Guardian columnist accuses Trump of selling out Ukraine
Original: Donald Trump has sold out Ukraine. He makes appeaser Chamberlain look like a man of iron principle
Guardian foreign affairs commentator Simon Tisdall writes that Donald Trump has 'sold out' Ukraine, comparing him unfavourably to 1930s British appeaser Neville Chamberlain. Tisdall argues European leaders can no longer trust Washington's word and calls on Europe to move beyond verbal criticism and take concrete steps to punish Trump over his handling of the war.
Why now: Anger over Trump's Ukraine policy and its implications for European security is intensifying debate among commentators and leaders.
