Erasmus+ rapporteur wants Canada to join by 2028
Original: Erasmus+ rapporteur wants Canada to join the programme by 2028
The European Parliament's Erasmus+ rapporteur is calling for Canada to be admitted to the EU's student exchange and education programme by 2028. The proposal would extend Erasmus+ beyond its current association with non-EU countries, and is being debated as the programme's next long-term budget and membership rules are discussed in Brussels.
Why now: Talks over the future shape and enlargement of Erasmus+ are under way, making non-EU membership bids timely.
