Author weighs scrapping manuscript over similar new book
Original: Gods damnit! Am thinking I will have to delete one of my manuscripts because it was very close to this, even though mine
A writer says they may delete one of their unfinished manuscripts after seeing a newly released book with a very similar premise, even though their own version centres gay characters and disability. They say they are not too upset given their stockpile of other romance plot ideas, and are recommending readers check out the rival title instead.
Why now: Conversations about similar premises and co-incidental overlaps in publishing resonate strongly with writer communities.
