Perseverance navcam photo sparks nostalgia for early space imagery

Original: I grew up at a time when most space photos looked like this: Processed NAVCAM_LEFT looking ENE (72°) from RMC 92.0000 So

A processed navigation camera image from NASA's Perseverance rover, taken on Sol 2016 and looking east-northeast from RMC 92.0000, has been shared alongside a nostalgic comment about growing up when most space photos looked like this. The raw image comes from NASA's Mars 2020 raw image archive, and the post highlights the charm of the rover's grainy black-and-white engineering camera views compared to polished space photography.

Why now: People are feeling nostalgic about the raw, retro look of Mars rover camera images compared to modern high-definition space photos.
