New tool enables semantic search across major museum collections
Original: Semantic search across major museums
A new website lets users search the collections of major museums using semantic search, meaning results are matched by meaning rather than exact keywords. The project, featured on Last Museum, draws attention for making it easier to explore artworks and artefacts across institutions from a single interface. Early reactions highlight its usefulness for research, discovery and casual browsing of cultural heritage.
Why now: A new semantic search tool for museum collections has just launched and is drawing interest from the art and tech communities.
