Russian drone operators are using a new tactic against Ukrainian fiber-optic FPV drones: a second UAV tails the target and cuts its control cable with its propellers, downing it without sacrificing the interceptor, which then moves on to another mission. Fiber-optic drones are prized because they resist electronic warfare jamming, so a cheap non-explosive counter raises questions about how each side will adapt next.

Why now: It describes a novel, low-cost countermeasure against fiber-optic FPV drones that had previously been considered hard to defeat.
