Can static HTML files replace expensive BI tools?
Original: Can we replace a $150k Looker with a bucket of HTML files?
A developer argues that companies paying around $150,000 a year for Looker could, in many cases, replace the business intelligence platform with simple static HTML files generated from data. The piece questions whether heavyweight BI software is necessary for many dashboards, and the argument is drawing attention and debate among developers and data teams.
Why now: It challenges the value of expensive enterprise BI software, a cost many companies are rethinking.
