Doctors have told the BBC that hospitals in Sudan are being deliberately targeted amid the country's civil war. Their accounts point to attacks on medical facilities leaving wounded civilians without care, deepening an already severe humanitarian crisis. The testimony adds to growing international concern about violations against healthcare workers and patients in the conflict between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces.

Why now: Ongoing fighting in Sudan and mounting evidence of attacks on medical facilities are drawing fresh international attention.
