Crab bento sickens seven as celebrity lunchbox stories trend in Japan

Bento is drawing attention in Japan for two contrasting reasons. Seven people suffered diarrhoea and vomiting after eating a 'crimson crab bento' sold in seven prefectures including at Shin-Osaka Station, prompting Kanazawa health authorities to suspend vendor Takano Shoten for three days. Separately, TV personality Taiyo Sugiura thanked wife Nozomi Tsuji for a colourful bento, saying making lunch for their eldest son, now a first-year high school student, has become his morning routine.
