Cycling Across Brazil to Document the Vanishing Cerrado
Original: A Bicycle Journey Across Brazil to Find a Vanishing Savanna
A cyclist traveled across Brazil by bicycle to document the Cerrado, the country's vast savanna, which is disappearing rapidly due to agricultural expansion. The journey is featured in a film that won second place in Yale Environment 360's 2026 film contest, drawing attention to one of the world's most threatened yet overlooked biomes.
Why now: The film's recognition in Yale Environment 360's contest has brought fresh attention to the little-known destruction of the Cerrado savanna.
