CPM criticised as SMA medicine controversy escalates in Kerala
Original: അയ്യേ നാണക്കേട്… സിപിഎം തനി നിറം പുറത്ത് I SMA Medicine controversy
A medicine procurement scandal linked to the SMA in Kerala is drawing sharp criticism of the CPI(M), with the phrase 'ayye naanakedu' (what a shame) circulating in Malayalam media and commentary. Outlets such as Marunadan Malayali are accusing the party of showing its 'true colours', and the story is generating large engagement across the state's political social media.
Why now: The scandal touches the ruling CPI(M) in Kerala, and medical supply controversies anger the public, so political debate is running hot.
