Original: Choral Arts Ensembles bring Matthew Shepard story to Chateau Theatre

Choral Arts Ensembles are performing a work based on the story of Matthew Shepard at the Chateau Theatre in Rochester, Minnesota. The production uses choral music to remember Shepard, the young gay man whose 1998 murder in Wyoming became a landmark moment in the American conversation about hate crimes and LGBTQ rights. Local audiences are taking in the performances at the historic downtown venue.

Why now: The ensembles are presenting a locally staged memorial performance that connects a historic hate crime to the historic downtown venue.
