Singapore has requested information from 10 locally registered companies as it widens an investigation into fires in Indonesia that have caused haze across the region. Authorities are seeking details on the firms' possible links to the burning, which has drawn public concern over transboundary air pollution and corporate accountability.
Why now: Ongoing haze from Indonesian fires is a recurring regional health and environmental concern, and the probe names Singapore-registered firms.
