Boo Baskets Are Spiralling Out of Control This Halloween
Original: Boo Baskets Are OUT OF CONTROL… ALL THIS for Halloween?!
The Halloween tradition of 'boo baskets' — gift baskets left on neighbours' or friends' doorsteps — is being criticised for escalating into expensive, over-the-top spending sprees. Commentators are questioning how a small seasonal gesture became packed with luxury treats, themed goodies and elaborate extras, and urging people to rein in the cost.
Why now: Seasonal gift-giving pressure has turned a simple Halloween tradition into a viral debate about runaway spending.
