AfD leader Alice Weidel sets out how her party would govern Germany
Original: How the AfD would govern Germany | Alice Weidel full-length interview | The Economist
Alice Weidel, co-leader of Germany's Alternative für Deutschland (AfD), has given a full-length interview to The Economist explaining how her party would govern Germany. The interview draws wide attention as the AfD polls strongly ahead of national politics, with viewers debating the party's positions on Ukraine, immigration and its approach to power, and critics questioning the normalization of the far-right party.
Why now: The AfD's strong poll numbers and its stances on Ukraine and immigration have put the far-right party's governing plans at the centre of German and European political debate.
